Farewell to Fr. Stanislaw Kural

On Sunday June 23rd the parish community of Resurrection Church in Brooklyn, along with the clergy of the Senioriate,  gave thanks for 21 years of dedicated service to Resurrection by Fr. Stanislaw Kural, and expressed its gratitude to  his wife, Harriet. Diocesan Bishop Anthony Mikovsky  wrote a valedictory letter which was read to the congregation, praising Fr. Kural for his pastoral concern and his love of the people of Green Point and wishing him well, on behalf of the Prime Bishop and the entire community of the Polish National Catholic Church.

At a reception following Holy Mass, Fr. Kural was given a rousing send off as he embarks on his retirement from active ministry.  His many friends in Brooklyn, however, will ensure that he keeps in touch.  Parish Chairman Stephen Czanowicki and the White Eagle Society put together a wonderful buffet enjoyed by over 50 guests.

Welcome Celebration for Fr. Joseph Kolek

Resurrection Parish welcomes Fr. Joseph Kolek as our new Parish Administrator

In September, following a visit by Bishop Anthony Mikovsky, the Parish Committee welcomed Fr. Joseph Kolek to Resurrection Parish in Green Point, Brooklyn. Fr. Kolek was educated in Poland and received his priestly training and ordination there prior to his move to the United States. Following a period of study at the Savonarola Seminary in Scranton, PA, Fr. Kolek was incardinated as a priest of the Central Diocese of the Polish National Catholic Church. Resurrection Parish is his first pastoral assignment in the United States.

The whole parish welcomes him to Brooklyn, along with his wife Evelyn.

The following photographs were taken at a welcome celebration in October.
